The Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Beirut & Mount Lebanon signed a memorandum of understanding with Talal Abou Ghazaleh International (TAGI) consultants. Chamber members will be able to benefit from TAGI services in registering intellectual properties both locally and abroad.

TAGI will also offer other services in the field of intellectual property, trademarks, patents, and copyrights, as well as translations, consultancies, and legal services through its sister companies worldwide.

“We propose to form a specialized team to register, protect the associated trademarks and to make a draft law which protects our trademarks in accordance with international law,” said Talal Abou Ghazaleh.

Mohamad Choucair, President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Beirut & Mount Lebanon, said: “This memorandum will improve the level of our services and develop them in order to match international standards in commercial transactions.”

The duration of the memorandum is one year starting September 11, 2013. It will be automatically renewed unless one of the two parties decides otherwise.

TAGI is a member of the Talal Abou Ghazaleh organization that operates through 80 offices in the Arab world, North Africa, China, and North America, as well as 183 representative offices around the world. Choucair said: “We chose the Abou Ghazaleh group based on their professional reputation and transparency, both locally and internationally.”
