Local developer Tajco is expanding its activity in the South with three developments underway in Ghazieh (Saida area), Habouch, and Nabatiyeh.

Nisrine Hamoud, Marketing Manager, said that the South is set to become a very attractive destination: “We are rushing to invest there because cities there will be booming.” She said the region has high potential and demand is growing.

The first development in Ghazieh has a total space of over 8,000 square meters, with retail spaces of 100 to 140 square meters each. It also has office spaces ranging from 51 to 128 square meters. The project will be completed by 2014. Hamoud said the area is very attractive as it is near the highway and the city hosts several banks.

The second development on the Habouch Highway is a 10,500 square meter retail center, with shops ranging from 48 to 718 square meters. The area already has a number of furniture galleries, and home decoration stores. The center will be completed by 2017.

Rivoli Center in Nabatiyeh, the third development, is a mall planned for 2015 and stretching over more than 16,000 square meters. Hamoud said Tajco is still considering whether it will run the mall itself or hand it to a management company.

In Beirut, Tajco’s mixed use Garden City development in Bir Hassan will also host a new mall by 2015. “Bir Hassan represents an upper end market which we aim at serving through our developments.” She said they are in negotiations for the mall and will reveal more details soon.
