The Ministry of Finance announced that all registered VAT taxpayers must provide their tax declarations online starting the first quarter of 2014.

VAT taxpayers have to submit their declaration applications through the Ministry’s website (www.finance.gov.lb). They are required to fill in the registration form and send it as of the first month of 2014. Taxpayers will be given a username and password before end of February 2014 in order to accomplish the operation online.

The Tax Authority will no longer issue and receive papers related to the periodic VAT declaration and its redemption requests. It will also stop receiving declarations pertaining to built properties and income taxes on salaries starting the first quarter of 2014.

Taxpayers will be fined if they do not provide their online tax declarations within the legal deadline.
The Ministry will inform taxpayers by e-mail of any new taxes that should be declared via the Internet in the future.
