Aghani Aghani to tap regional markets
Aghani Aghani, a new multi-platform music media, has been launched. It includes a radio and TV station, live web streaming, and both iOS and Android mobile apps.
“All four media broadcast the same Arabic music or clips at the same time, so the listener, the viewer, or the app user will not miss any of his favorite music tracks wherever he is,” said Jiyad Murr, Managing Partner at MTV Lebanon, NRJ, and Nostalgie, the group that brought the new stations.
The multi-platform is operating from the MTV studios and broadcast facilities.
The creation of this new multi-media digital platform has been inspired by MTV’s daily show Aghani Aghani. This show will air on the new channel among other music programs and morning shows.
According to Murr, the closure of Melody FM has left the local radio scene with only two or three major players. “Unlike other stations, we are free to play the music of any artist, which makes our outreach broader.”
The local launching of the platform has cost around $500,000. The radio station will access regional markets in the coming six months, according to Murr. Another $700,000 will be added to the initial investment.
MTV’s media group has recently launched NRJ HITS, a new occidental music TV channel by the NRJ Lebanon radio station.
