A government hospital will be established in Deir El Qamar, in the Chouf region, in 2014. The Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR) will manage the project and assign contractors.
Tenders for the project have been conducted to assign contractors, and the results will be announced next week.
Deir El Qamar hospital is financed with about $7 million allocated by the public budget.
The government hospital will have a total built-up area of 7,000 square meters, and will comprise 40 beds.
The CDR will also launch a tender for renovating the second phase of the Baabda Governmental University Hospital (BGUH). The renovated part will consist of 100 beds, when it becomes operational.
Renovations estimated at $3.5 million will be funded by the Italian government.
