The ‘Sour Mall’ is expected to open in Tyre as of 2018. Excavation and construction on the $50 million project will start in 2015. The mall is owned by Chaddad Group, a local real estate developer.

The mall is currently in the architecture phase and several designs are being reviewed to choose the one that matches the desired concept, said Patrick Chaddad, General Manager.

“Tyre, our hometown, lacks a large mall to diversify its shopping experience,” Chaddad said.

The development will be built over an area of 20,000 square meters and will have 30,000 to 40,000 square meters of built-up area, with more than 20,000 square meters of gross leasable area.

The mall will have three to four floors and will include a large mix of retail brands, mostly found in similar malls. Negotiations with large retailers, of the likes of Azadea, are expected to happen soon.

The Sour Mall will also have various restaurants, and may include a Cineplex, Chaddad said.
