Lebanese-owned and Cyprus-based IT distributor Logicom Group has signed a value-added distribution (VAD) partnership agreement with the US-based CommVault Systems Inc, a software industry company.

The contract will cover distribution of CommVault's products and services in Lebanon, along with several other regional countries, through Logicom's network of resellers and systems integrators. CommVault is a data management and information management software company. It is a business unit of AT&T Network Systems. Its branded Simpana software platform provides one management console for all administrative tasks.

Toni Azzi, Regional Manager of the Levant area at Logicom, said that the company’s portfolio lacked data management and security solutions. “Through our partnership with CommVault, we will be offering our clients a comprehensive and complete package of solutions.” Logicom's server and storage portfolio includes major brands like HP, NetApp, Cisco and Dell.

Azzi said that the brand will officially enter the local market in February. As part of its strategy, Logicom will conduct sales and pre-sales training workshops for selected partners that have been identified, with the objective of certifying them on CommVault products and services.

In line with this new partnership, Logicom will be appointing regional channel partners and authorized resellers, responsible of promoting and marketing the new entry brand.

Logicom was named Nokia’s Official Distributor for Lebanon, last July. Under this distribution agreement, Logicom has already begun accelerating the adoption of Nokia devices across the country.
