An agreement was signed between the Parliament and a group of international companies headed by the International Management Group, in partnership with Al Dar Consulting, a subsidiary of Talal Abu Ghazaleh Associates.

The agreement aims to implement the Support Program for the Development of the Lebanese Parliament. This project is backed by the French National Assembly and funded by the European Union. Implementation will begin mid-February.

“The project aims to strengthen the institutional role of the Parliament, and to help implement information and communication technology applications,” according to Al Dar Consulting. It includes updating the website of the Parliament.

The project will improve control over parliamentary activities. It will organize meetings for the members of the committees. It would also offer support to the legislative, technical and administrative work of the parliamentary committees.

“The project will work on developing research to help the work of MPs,” the company said. It will also develop the skills, technical and professional capabilities of the parliament’s staff.
