The Omran Industrial Food Company aims to open a factory to manufacture confectionery products in the industrial city of Zahle. The construction and equipping of the factory has been finalized and production will start within one month.

Othman Alam Eddine, Partner and CEO said: “We will start operating with half our production capacity and gradually produce at full capacity in a year.” The factory will produce biscuits and chocolate.

The cost of investment in the new factory has reached $5 million, including the cost of land and construction. It stretches over an area of 3,000 square meters and is expected to create more than 60 job opportunities.

“The factory is equipped with the latest automated machines and equipment imported from Europe and America,” said Alam Eddine. He said that they are still studying the market and there is a plan to export part of the produce to the region.

The company will benefit from IDAL incentives, mainly the exemption from the income tax for ten years.

Alam Eddine has confectionery factories in Syria, which have experienced a reduction in sales, due to the crisis there.
