Event venue La Magnanerie, located in Sed El Bouchrieh area, will start its renovation in May. Investments in the project rise above $1 million. Architects of the project are 4B Architects, and the entrepreneur is Cubica.

Michèle Ghanem, Managing Partner at Wild Mulberry, the company which leases La Magnanerie, said that the restoration will kick off bit by bit, in order to keep the venue operational. It will be finalized by 2015.

La Magnanerie was initially a 19th century silk factory. It was acquired by the Ghanem family in the 1970’s.

In 2011, Michele Ghanem, daughter of one of the co-owners, decided to bring the venue back to life.

La Magnanerie is leased for different events and weddings. Last year, it hosted the Baalbeck Festival.

The venue stretches over 5,000 square meters. It is surrounded by several gardens, and has five buildings. “We have already finalized revamping one of the buildings, and the main building of the venue will be ready before summer.”
