Under the agreement, IAE will provide maintenance and support services to MEA’s fleet with V2500 Select aero engines.

Mouhammad Al Hout, MEA’s chairman, said that “the agreement comes to ensure that MEA’s latest fleet with V2500 SelectOne engines, retain their performance benefits.”

Chris Bewley, IAE’s vice president Asia and Middle East said that “the offering has long term benefits, both in terms of reliability and cost, and keeps engines maintained to the highest standards.”

The V2500 engines power the Airbus A319, A320, and A321 Family of aircraft as well as the Airbus Corporate Jetliner.

MEA took delivery of the first of aircraft with V2500 SelectOne engines that power A320 aircraft in January 2009.

The airline also operates a fleet of six Airbus A321s since 2002 that are equipped with the IAE power plant.

IAE’s shareholders are Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce, Japanese Aero Engines Corporation, and MTU Aero Engines.
