Elderly hospital expanded in Dhour Choueir

The Medical and Social Center ‘Baytna’, a hospital for elderly patients, expanded its premises in Dhour Choueir.

“This expansion was part of the hospital’s plan to increase the number of beds to 80,” said Elie Korban, Owner of the center and Chairman of the Rescue and Social Services Association.

The total built up area of the medical center is 4,500 m2. It consists of six floors including the administration department. The total number of employees will reach 50.

The total cost of the project is $3 million. “The center was financed by the association, as well as donations, and loans from the banks” said Korban.

In addition to elderly care, the hospital offers all medical services except surgeries. It includes an urgent care and scanning centers, among other services. The hospital is equipped with advanced medical equipment.

The services of the center for elders are not covered by the Ministry of Public Health or NSSF. Tariffs are $1,000 per person per month, including accommodation services.
