Huawei, the Chinese global provider of information and communication technology (ICT) solutions and mobile devices, will launch its brand and mobile products.
“Chetraco, a subsidiary of large group AC Holding, is the exclusive agent of the brand,” said Jihad Hindi, Business Unit Manager. Chetraco is already the exclusive agent of Telefunken, Kelvinator, Candy, Agni, and FratelliOnofri.
Founded by Antoine Cherfan in 1979, AC Holding is a group of companies with more than 500 employees operating in the Levant. The Group includes several companies, most notably CTC (Cherfan Tawil), founded by Antoine Cherfan in 1979. The company is the exclusive agents of Samsung electronics since 1980.
Hindi said that a full-fledged business plan is ready to market the brand.
Further to this agreement, most devices and end users products, such as mobile phones, tablets, routers, dongles, and others, will be available in the local market.
Huawei has recently been active locally. It has partnered in the setup of the mobile network infrastructure. The company has also signed a protocol with the Ministry of Telecommunications to improve local ICT capacities.
The company was involved in the Fiber Optical project with the Ministry of Telecommunications, in 2012-2013. It is also the main 3G and 4G supplier for the Touch network. In February 2013, Touch and Huawei demonstrated the first trial for Carrier Aggregation on the 4G network. Huawei also contributes to the transmission backbone of Alfa’s network.
