Oil and gas management major to be introduced
The American University of Technology (AUT) is expanding its headquarters in Tyr. The campus was moved from Abbasiyeh to Haouch at a cost of $500,000.
Marcel Hnein, Vice President of External Relations, said: “The current capacity of the campus is 500 students which will be expanded later to 1,500.”
The built up area of the campus is 800 square meters and the land area is 2,000 square meter.
The campus will offer several majors such as water resource sciences, logistics and transportation management, nutrition, and environmental health. “We added a major for gas and petroleum management, especially that the largest offshore oil and gas reserves are in the South,” he said.
AUT has branches in Halat and Tripoli. It is owned by the Hnein family. Tuition fees are $196 per credit.
