The second phase of a highway connecting Tripoli to Hermel passing through three Daniyeh villages has been launched.

The cost of the 16-km planned three-year project is $28 million funded by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB).

The highway is carried out by Danash for Contracting and Trading under the supervision of Dar al Handasah (Nazih Taleb).

The first phase constituted building the highway portion between Hermel and Jbab el Homr. These works, which reached Brisa Dam, were concluded several years ago. Studies for the highway were finished in 1996.
