The Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR) launched a project to provide emergency services targeting host municipalities that are most affected by the influx of Syrian refugees.

The project aims to enhance basic municipal services and encourage social fusion. The $10 million project is funded by a grant from the World Bank.

The scope includes the development of critical infrastructure works that include drinking water, sewage, solid waste, and roads.

Central Bekaa, Zahle, Tyr, and Baalbeck are some of the areas to be covered, over a span of three years.
