A Czech economic delegation met with board members of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount Lebanon and other Lebanese businessmen on Thursday.

Both parts called for expanding economic ties and increasing bilateral trade exchange. They also highlighted the importance of the participation of the private sector in this regard.

Lebanese- Czech trade data are still at low levels, as Lebanon’s imports from Czeh Republic reached $47 million in 2009 while exports stood only at 200,000 for the same year.

The Czech delegation was headed by Jaroslav Hanák, executive director of the association of Czech industrialists which is accompanying Jan Kohout, deputy prime minister and Czech foreign affairs minister in his visit to Lebanon.
