New car sales up

The number of newly registered cars grew by four percent in 2014 to 37,816 vehicles, according to the Association of Car Importers in Lebanon.

Korea’s Kia ranked first in terms of new car registrations, with a total of 8,350, down from 9,310 during 2013. Korea’s Hyundai came second with 7,128 newly registered cars, up from 6,901 cars in 2013. Cars, priced below $15,000, accounted for 90 percent of all registered cars. Luxury cars over $100,000 represented only 3.5 percent.
