The Lakkis dairy farm completed the expansion of its factory in Baalbek last month.

Mohib Lakkis, one of the owners said: “We have doubled our production capacity.” The factory is producing ten tons of milk daily.

The investment in the 1,700 square meter factory was $1.5 million. The factory has been equipped with high-tech pasteurization equipment. The expansion created around 20 additional jobs.

The factory has its own farm, which includes around 120 cows. The factory also purchases milk to supplement its production. The price of each kilogram of milk is 70 cents.

Lakkis farm has its own retail shops to market a wide range of products in Baalbek and plans to push its distribution to Beirut and Mount Lebanon.
