Update on Paris III Pledges
Total Paris III signed agreements reach $6 billion at 2009-end

The amount represents 78 percent of the Paris III pledges and an increase of seven percent compared to a year earlier, said the Report. Out of the total commitments, 25 percent were grants and 75 percent were loans.

Total payments made by donors at the end of 2009 totaled $3.6 billion, or 50 percent of pledges and 63 percent of commitments.

Budget support agreements reached $2 billion or 36 percent of total signed agreements. Agreements for supporting the private sector reached $1.5 billion (26 percent of the total). The United States accounted to the bulk of total signed grants and loans at $1 billion. It was followed by the European Investment Bank ($961 million), France ($599 million), and Malaysia ($500 million).
