The Dar Alma boutique hotel opened last month in Tyre’s Old Town. It was developed by Philippe Tabet at a cost of $1.5 million.

The hotel includes five suites, two junior suites and two double rooms. The built-up area is 500 square meters and the land area 200 m2. Tabet called the hotel after his mother.

“I purchased the house four years ago and renovated it,” said Tabet. The underground level of the house was built 1,000 years ago, the ground floor in 1890 and the first floor in 1950, according to Tabet.

The hotel has a private access to the beach. “There is high demand for guesthouses and boutique hotels, as the concept is becoming very trendy locally,” he said.
