Khonaysser Motors opened a factory in Zahle

10,000 generators for international markets

Khonaysser Motors, a local manufacturer of power generators, opened a factory in the Zahle Industrial City, earlier this year.

George Karam, Site Manager of Khonaysser Motors, said: “The factory in Zahle is to increase itsproduction capacity to be able to penetrate new international markets.”

The production capacity of the Zahle factory will reach 10,000 generators per year. Its capacity will be four times that of the Nahr El Mot facility.

The $80 million factory has a total space of 50,000 square meters. The factory created around one hundred new jobs.

The company exports more than 75 percent of its products to Iraq, Egypt, Pakistan, and the Maldives, as well as the Gulf and African countries. “We aim to expand our presence in Africa, as our presence there is still too limited,” said Karam.

Khonaysser produces different kinds of diesel and truck engines. The company is an exclusive agent for Volvo Penta and an official distributor for Stamford alternators in the local market and Cyprus.
