Viecoeast, a local manufacturer of wastewater treatment stations, will open a factory for manufacturing and installing wooden prefabricated houses, next June, in Halat, Jbeil.

Chadi Abi Samra, General Manager, said: “Demand for prefabricated houses is increasing, as a wide range of low and middle income people are choosing them over conventional, constructed houses.”

The $1 million expansion will have a total built-up area of 400 square meters and will produce 15 prefabricated houses per month. The factory will create eight job opportunities.

Unit prices start from $9,500 and could reach $28,000. Raw materials for the prefabricated houses will be imported from Turkey. Vieco plans to install these houses locally and abroad, starting in Russia.
