RBML Microbiology Labs, a local private lab for testing food, has expanded its premises in Choueifat. The new extension will start operating in May and will be dedicated to food testing.

The company’s expansion includes automation systems for salmonella, E-coli and other bacteria found in food.

The production capacity of the facility will be around 50 liters of medicine daily. Rami Khodr, General Manager, said: “We will initially produce medicine for our lab’s needs and later sell our products to the market.”

The new premises have a total built-up area of 300 square meters. The investment is $1million. The facility will create four job opportunities.

RBML Microbiology Labs test around 150 samples per day. “Producing our own solutions will lower our costs by 30 percent,” Said Khodr.

The company receives food samples for testing from the UAE and Erbil. The lab is accredited by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
