The Municipality of Beirut is preparing to launch a tender for the establishment of the Beirut Metropolitan Orthodox Archbishop Elias Audi Garden on Lubnan Street, in the heart of Ashrafieh, next to Saydet el Bechara Church.

The garden will be built on a 1,000 square meter plot and will include an underground parking made up of six levels, according to Deputy Mayor Nadim Abu Rizk, also the project’s designer. “The parking will have the capacity to receive 150 vehicles,” he said.

The $6 million project, which is fully funded by the municipality, will be completed in two years. The facility will operate on solar energy, using photovoltaic cells mounted on one of the garden’s structures.
