Beirut's hotels buck the downward trend
Occupancy, RevPARs jump in January reversing the worldwide drop!

Occupancy rates at hotels in Beirut jumped 6.1 percent in January reaching 57.6 percent. Only the Jordanian Capital- Amman surpassed Beirut, with its hotels witnessing a growth of 7.1 percent in occupancy levels to 44.1 percent.

Dubai achieved an equal 6.1 increase in occupancy rates which reached 72.1 percent in January. 

Beirut was one of three markets to report an increase of 25 percent or more in Average Daily Rates (ADRs). ADRs in Beirut increased 25.7 percent to $206.Cape Town and South Africa were the other two capitals to come ahead of Beirut.

Beirut hotels also reported the second-highest increase in revenue per available room (RevPAR) after Cape Town hotels for the same month; RevPAR increased 33.4-percent to $118.76.

In overall results posted by STR, the region’s occupancy in January fell two percent to 54.8 percent, average daily rate decreased 1.9 percent to $170.20 while the revenue per available room decreased four percent to $93.23.
