A Light Emitting Diode (LED) products manufacturer, the Energy Management Company (EMC) will open a factory in the industrial zone of Mazraat Yachouh.

Pierre Gemayel, General Manager, said that the company will purchase the raw materials required for LED spotlights, light bulbs, garden lights, and fluorescent lights from Morocco and China. He said: “We aim to provide local products with better quality.”

Investment in the project is estimated at around $2 million. The facility will comprise five floors with a total built-up area of 2,000 square meters. It will create 60 full time jobs.

Once operational, in the summer of 2016, the factory will produce around ten tons of LED lights per year, equivalent to $3 million. Gemayel said that the company will export part of its production to Morocco and other Arab countries.

Gemayel also owns the SUPERLED Company, a supplier of LED lighting.
