The Association of Lebanese Industrialists (ALI) will start issuing quarterly industrial indicators, in September. It has prepared the mechanism and basics for issuing the indicators.

ALI said that these indicators will help set economic and financial policies. They will also help industrialists in decision making and in keeping up with economic activity.

The association has signed a cooperative protocol with the Ministry of Finance, which will provide it with statistics and information for its indicators on the production, investment, workforce, cost of production, and added value of the industrial sector.

ALI said that all formal companies pay taxes to MoF, which has the details of their production, the amounts invested in their facilities, and the salaries they pay their workforce. ALI can build on these numbers to issue the indicators.

Mounir Bissat, Chairman of the Council for Industrial Export Development at ALI, said that cooperation with Customs will enable the organization to learn what is being exported, the number of imports from industrial machines and raw materials.

Banque Libano-Française (BLF) and Indevco Group funded around $100,000 for the project.
