The hotel was closed for renovation since 2013, in order to become part of the Luxury Collection of the American management chain, Starwood. “The refurbishment not only rejuvenated the hotel, but installed international brand standards that our company requires,” said Giuseppe Ressa, General Manager.

The property is owned by Robert Mouawad of Mouawad Village. “The owners are upgrading their property after 12 years of operation,” said Ressa. This hotel is iconic and fits best the Luxury Collection brand, he said, which operates over 100 hotels worldwide in the upper scale level of hospitality service. The local property will be the fifth in the region, after three in the UAE and one in Kuwait.
