In a densely-populated district of Beirut where tall buildings are all across the area, the Ottoman era-built Sanayeh Garden offers the Lebanese capital's residents a much-needed green space for gathering and relaxing with a taste of history.

Covering 22,000 square meters, the garden is a popular destination for walkers, joggers and children. It is also popular among the elderly who sit in the shade of the trees to play cards, backgammon or chess. It is also a place where artists exhibit their work.
