Sannine Mineral Waters, a manufacturer of bottled water, will expand its factory and warehouses in Bkaatouta by 2017.

Jacques Akiki, Production Manager, said: “Our gallon bottled water market is growing rapidly, achieving 30 percent growth last year, so we find it feasible to increase production.”

The expansion will increase the space of the factory from 3,000 to 8,000 square meters. Investment in the project is estimated to exceed $4 million. Akiki said that the cost of the production lines and machines exceeds $1 million. The fully automated machines will replace the workforce. According to Akiki, Sannine is creating around 20 percent additional jobs annually in the distribution department.

The production capacity of the 19-liter gallons will reach 1,500 per hour. The capacity of the bottled water rose two years ago from 15,000 to 22,000 bottles per hour.

Sannine exports around 20 percent of its production to the UAE, as well as some African countries.

ETEC consulting engineer is the consultant and designer of Sannine’s project.
