Plastic boxes factory opened in Taanayel

Chtayweh for Plastic Industries Company opened a factory for manufacturing plastic boxes for agricultural use in Taaneyal in early September.

The $2 million investment has a built-up area of 1,500 square meters. George Chtayweh, General Manager, said that he borrowed a subsidized loan through Kafalat to finance part of the project.

The factory is fully automated and equipped with machines imported from China. It created around 15 full time jobs.

The production capacity of the factory is 600 tons of plastic per year. According to Chtayweh, production of plastic boxes for agricultural use is estimated at around 5,000 tons per year. He said that the whole production will be distributed to local farmers.
