Palliative care center to open in Adma

Providence Hospital, a palliative care center, will open in Adma in early 2016 by the New Life Convent.

The hospital will be dedicated for elderly and abandoned people, terminally ill patients, and homeless children, according to father Elie Riachy, President of the Convent.

The hospital will consist of five floors including 30 beds. It will have a total land space of 3,300 square meters and a 1,700 m2 built-up area.

Investment in the project is $2 million. Riachy said that it will be funded by donors and that the land was granted. The hospital is in the process of obtaining a license from the Ministry of Public Health.
