Mecanique tender postponed

The Department of Tenders has postponed a tender for the modernization, development, and operation of the vehicle inspection centers, or ‘Mécanique’, and the design, development, and equipping of new centers, until January 18, 2016.

Two interested bidders have raised an adjournment request, saying they needed more time to abide by the terms of reference. A memo released by the department said: “Out of concern for fairness, equal opportunity, fair competition, and to allow for a larger number of participants, the opening of the bids was postponed from 26/11/2015 to 18/1/2016.”

Economy Minister Alain Hakim had protested last month the terms of reference and requested the repetition of bids based on different and more applicable terms.
