Taxpayers may now pay taxes in nearest treasury office
Share
Taxpayers may, from now on, pay their taxes in the public treasury office that is closest to their location, said the Ministry of Finance in a statement.
The decision, which aims to ease tax payments, applies to taxes that could, under law, be paid in treasury offices. The move comes in the application of a resolution issued in 2009 that considers the entire country to be a single tax collection area, according to the ministry.
Citizens and legal entities may pay their taxes in any of the ministry’s treasury offices in Lebanon within the deadlines determined in their receipt slips.
Taxpayers are no longer obligated to pay their taxes in the treasury office, which is located in the same area as the taxation unit that had issued their tax mandate, the ministry said.
