Pasta factory in Taanayel
Share
Italiano Food Stuff, a recently established company, will open a factory for spaghetti and vermicelli in Taanayel, Bekaa, in February. The name chosen for the brand is ‘Maakaroni’.
Abdallah Maarouf, Managing Director, said: “We conducted a feasibility study for the market, and we found that there are only two factories that produce such products locally.”
Investment in the project is around $4 million. It spans over an area of 1,000 square meters. The facility gained the HACCP and ISO certifications.
Production capacity is around 300 tons of spaghetti and vermicelli per month. Maarouf said the company has plans to expand the factory and double production very soon, after penetrating the market. Production will be distributed locally in the first stage.
The factory will create around 50 full time jobs. Maarouf said that the staff will include experts and technicians, as well as designers for setting the shapes and designs of the spaghetti.
Italiano Food Staff is owned by Manhal Yassine, owner of Yassine Ceramics.
