Less Cars Sold in first two months of 2009
Number of Japanese and European cars sold drop

The drop came due to a 29.4 percent decline in number of Japanese cars sold; Japanese cars usually top the list of cars sold; number of European cars also dropped by 21 percent, AIA figures showed.

On the contrary, number of Chinese cars grew 660 percent, and number of Korean cars sold grew 43.1 percent. The number of American cars sold also increased by three percent.

Japanese cars still top the list of car sales constituting 38 percent of total car sales, followed by European vehicles (26.3 percent), and Korean cars at 26.2 percent.

Kia was the leading brand with 639 cars sold in the first two months of 2010, followed by Nissan with 537 cars sold, and Hyundai with 292 cars.
