Investment expected

to double production output

Saltek, a bakery equipment manufacturer, will expand its factory in the industrial city of Mazraat Yachouh. The expansion will start operating in June 2018.

Investment, which is expected to double the production output, is estimated at $5 million.

Garabet Salkhanian, Chairman, said: “Demand for flat bread is increasing in the countries that host Syrian refugees, so we have to increase production to meet those needs.”

The total built-up area of the factory is 4,000 square meters. The expansion will add around 50 full time jobs to the headcount of the factory overall.

Saltek already has 2,500 bakery production lines in the market and exports around 90 percent of the production to more than 90 countries.

The company will install fully automated machines for manufacturing and will introduce new software from Siemens for use both in management and design development.
