Middle East Airlines (MEA) expects its 2018 profits to be lower than the preceding year, but forecasts the number of passengers to reach 3 million by the end of the year, according to its Chairman Mohamad El-Hout.

“The company will achieve profits although they are smaller than last year, but we will be able to distribute $55 million in dividend to our shareholders,” he said.

MEA distributed $550 million in dividends over the last ten years.

MEA plans to sign a codeshare agreement with Turkish Airlines for packages between Beirut and Antalia starting in the summer of 2019.
