Ministry of Finance to pay private hospitals dues

The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has approved the payment of arrears owed by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) to private hospitals for the year 2018.

The MoF approved a partial payment of the dues to private hospitals, which are owed a total of $320 million for the year 2018, according to Sleiman Haroun, Chairman of the Syndicate of Private Hospitals.

“The MoPH didn’t transfer the exchange schedule to the MoF until November. Previously, MoPH used to send the schedules to MoF every three to six months,” Haroun said.

The MoF also recently paid what the government owes to public hospitals.
