Beirut Merchants elect new Board
Chammas: “We will give a special attention to SMEs"

Out of the Association’s 820 members, 629 companies attended the voting, forming the required quorum for elections to take place, and have elected the list of candidate, Nicolas Chammas that consists of 24-members.

The new board of directors convened following the GA in a meeting headed by the oldest member, Mounir Tabbara. The board elected Nicolas Chammas as President, who will replace the Association’s current Chairman,-Nadim Assi.

New members elected for the board included in addition to Chammas, the following members: Jamil Garzouzi, Randa AL-Mahasne, Camille Boulos, Jihad Ibrahim, Rafi Dimirgian, Karim Keserwani, Mohamad Rida Sinno, Nadine Mkataf, Joseph Nisnas, Michel Fattal, Bachir Basatena,  Mounir Tabbara, Khalil Fakhoury, Fadi Shahrour, Jaafar Haidar, Youssef Baydoun, Hanna Rophael, Antoine Assi, Rashid Kebbi, Jamal Dandan, Jihad AL-annir, Joan Karam, Michel Asaili.

Chammas asked all parties to coordinate with the Association to serve the trading sector in Beirut. “We will work hard to serve the goals of traders, especially in terms of reducing taxes on imported products, and attracting new investments to the sector,” said Chammas following his election.

“We will give a special attention to small and medium-sized enterprises, and we will work to improve the purchasing power of the Lebanese,” he said.
