Public Deficit narrows in first five months
Primary Surplus reached $815 million for the period

Total primary surplus was up to $815 million for the period, rising substantially by approximately three times compared to the same period last year.

Expenditures of the government reached $4.3 billion, down from $4.8 billion last year, the report showed, while revenues increased only slightly to $1.7 billion in the period to May from $1.6 billion last year.

Tax revenues, the main source of income for the state, reached $670 million, up 45 percent from the same period in 2009.
