Uruguay Street
is back in business
Nine pubs opened. More to come
Outlets on Uruguay Street, in Beirut Central District, have reopened. The nightlife destination, which has been almost entirely closed since 2016, has reopened for business.
District Developers, chaired by Hassan Dergham, has gained the investment rights to renovate and operate the street outlets for seven years from Solidere.
Nine pubs and bars have opened on the street so far: Wicked, Sugar Fish, Monkey Bar, Mojito, Duval, LA Cantina del Patron, Casa de Uruguay, U Lounge Bar, and Gino Bar.
“We invested up to $5 million dollars for renovation and development,” said Dergham.
The Uruguay Street concept was first developed by Venture Group, a hospitality management company co-founded by Rabih Saba and Marwan Ayoub. At its peak, the street featured 30 pubs and restaurants.
