The project which was implemented by Italian NGO- Arci Cultura e Sviluppo (ARCS), comes as part of the "Women and Nature between Hermel, Akkar and Nabatieh” program.  It also aims at enhancing environmental protection, and encouraging the role of women in participating in development and planning.

The ROSS Program is an initiative started in 2006 by the Italian government. Italy offers financing for projects in the framework of the Program to assist in the rehabilitation and reinforcement of basic services aiming at upgrading the living socioeconomic conditions.
