Restaurateurs’ eyes
are on Mina El Hosn
Ten restaurants opened
recently and more to come
Mina El Hosn has seen the opening of more than ten premium dining restaurants in the last three years, including both Lebanese and European cuisines, according to ‘The party has moved to downtown’, a cover story published in the August issue of Lebanon Opportunities.
Boubess Group, a company behind several F&B concepts, has paved the way for a number of chains to tap into the area. It has opened two outlets under the brands Cucina and Métropole in Mina El Hosn.
Other restaurant chains have also spotted large potential in the area. Sociéte de Gestion de Restaurant (S.G.R.), the company that owns the Em Sherif brand, along with Parrilla, and Numéro Six (N◦6), has opened its first outlet on Rafic Salloum Street.
Well-known chains such as BeBabel and Le Sushi Bar have also recently expanded to the area.
More restaurants are expected to open in the coming months. AlShaya Group will open a Starbucks outlet this year, and Atallah Holding, the owner of the Amar chain of restaurants, will open a new Amar outlet in October.
S.G.R. is creating a new concept, ‘Bint Em Sherif’, which will open in October, replacing N◦6. “We are replacing a European cuisine restaurant with a Lebanese one. There is demand for high quality Lebanese cuisine in the area,” said Dany Chaccour, General Manager of S.G.R.
Restaurateurs expect more brands to come to Mina El Hosn. “Lebanese cuisine will prosper in the coming future, and will expand,” Chaccour said.
