incubator opened in Roumieh
Project capable for 40 green

start-ups and small enterprises

Fondation Diane has launched ‘Raymondo’ a green industrial incubator in the industrial zone of Roumieh.

Raymondo has a total built-up area of 3,000 square meters (m2), which can fit up to 40 start-ups. “The project will be a platform for start-ups who have creative eco-friendly industrial ideas that can be developed,” said Lara Blake, Operation Director at Fondation Diane.

The incubator will also comprise a research and development space and basic equipment and machinery that can help their industrial projects. It will also provide consulting services, business monitoring and access to investment.

The foundation is negotiating with several universities such as the American University of Beirut (AUB), Saint Joseph University (USJ), and the Lebanese University, the possibility of bringing students who have feasible industrial green ideas.

The foundation has acquired the land and the building in Roumieh. Total investment in the project so far is around $3 million.. Additional machinery and equipment will be gradually added to the project depending on the needs of the start-ups and the universities.

Two start-ups have joined Raymondo so far including Fabric Aid, a second hand clothes collector and distributer offering clothing at affordable prices to the underpriviliged, and L'Atelier du Miel. Negotiations are ongoing with other tenants.

Fondation Diane was established in 2012 by Diane Fadel, which aims for sustainable development by promoting the value of natural heritage.
