The program will be implemented by the Italian office for Cooperation and Development, and the Ministry. An agreement was signed today to facilitate implementation of the program assistance by the Minster of Environment, Mohamad Rahal and Gabriel Kikya, the Italian Ambassador.

The funding program will help improve the Ministry’s technical and managerial capabilities in the provision of environmental services to municipalities in the area, including the management of solid waste and waste disposal.

The program also involves the construction of a veritable waste landfill in Baalbek and cleaning, and rehabilitating the existing dump in the kyal region, making it an archeological site.
