Nearly 4.8 million people currently reside in Lebanon, a published study has revealed.

According to the Labor Force and Households’ Living Conditions Survey (LFHLCS) conducted by the Central Administration of Statistics (CAS), 80 percent of residents are Lebanese.

The average household size is 3.8 individuals, down from 4.3 people, 15 years ago.

According to the survey, the labor force totals 1.8 million, representing around half of people older than 15 years. Women account for just 30 percent of the labor force.

The scope of the survey, which was conducted with the technical cooperation of the International Labour Organization (ILO), covers inhabitants living in residential dwellings in Lebanon. The sample consisted of 40,000 households. Data collection took place between April 2018 and March 2019.
