The competition period lasted for three days, where the four companies have offered their own merits and design schemes for the landmark project. However, only two companies were qualified for round-2 of the competition, because in their designs, they strongly matched the bank’s main objective from the project, which is construction of a green building, highly compatible with environmental standards.

The two selected companies- Sites db, and Hapsitus, would now be competing in an extension period of forty days, in which they would be offering their final plans, designs, and schemes for the project, in their bid of landing the contract.

Following this month and seven days- competition period, BLC would select one winner to design its new building- which would lie next to its current premises.

The jury is formed of senior and top officials at the bank, including BLC’s- Chairman- Maurice Sehnaoui, in addition to some architects, said BLC.

All competitors participating in the bid were Lebanese companies, the bank said. “The new headquarters will reflect the Bank’s new expansionary plan,” said Sehnaoui.
