The project would take two years, and two stages to be finalized, and would cost as much as $3 million, KFAED said in a statement.

KFAED would offer $2.1 million for restoring the site, while the remaining funds would be granted by the CDR.

Implementation of the re-construction and renovation program project would take two stages be completed. Stage one, would be carried out by the Water Resources and Development Company- WARD. Upon completion of this stage, the Shkaif monument would re-open its doors to visitors, which will help in promoting this Southern-site as a tourism attraction.

Stage two, would see both, the Ministry and its associated bodies, offering regular maintenance, for preserving the site, according to the statement.
